How do I become a Gym Instructor?

How can I work in a Gym as a Gym Instructor?
The fitness industry has gone through some changes in the recent years and the quality of all new trainers has been standardised. Whether you are a school leaver, looking for a change in career or a Sports/Exercise Science degree student, you will need to go through vocational training with a REPS approved and accredited training provider.
Once you have completed your training, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification which is now accepted by all gyms and leisure centres.
This will allow you to be able to work in a gym as a Qualified Fitness Instructor (Gym).
What does a Gym Instructor do?
A qualified Gym Instructor teaches gym members how to lead healthier lives through improved exercise and diet. Motivating and helping members to achieve realistic goals by providing instruction and advice to groups as well as individuals.
How much do Gym Instructors earn?
Wages vary depending on the company, but just above minimum wage is normal.
How long will it take to complete the required training?
With Be A Better You – Training, you can complete your training using a Blended Learning format which will enable you to complete the course in matter of weeks.
Blended Learning requires learners to study parts of the course using e-learning and the course manual in their own time. The other practical part of the course will be covered on training days which are normally spread over 3 weeks (twice a week/weekends). You will train alongside an experienced tutor with a small group of dedicated learners just like yourself.
What qualifications will I receive by the end my training and where can it take me?
Upon successful completion of your course, you will receive an REPS accredited ACTIVE IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym). You can then progress into Level 3 Personal Training or look for employment.
